Günther is relatively new at Vexcel but is already in the thick of things. He started working at Vexcel in April 2021 amidst the Covid pandemic. Yet, despite the distance and remote work, he has quickly fit in with his team. Günther grew up in an alpine environment in Austria and mountain topography has fascinated him ever since. He has a PhD in Geoinformatics and Geomorphology from the University of Salzburg and now supports the UltraMap team as a data and machine learning engineer. He is determined and persistent when it comes to seemingly unsolvable problems, fixating on the challenge until the solution is found.
Currently, Günther is working on developing a new pipeline that will prepare training data for our machine learning model. Sounds complicated? It is! In his spare time, his family comes first, especially his sweet little daughter, of whom he is fiercely proud. Günther is also adventurous, has a passion for mountain sports and is a certified climbing instructor. His biggest interest is photography, especially capturing breathtaking landscapes, fascinating wildlife, and of course snapshots of his loved ones.
