We are thrilled to announce the introduction of two new operating modes for our UltraCam oblique image systems of the 4th and 3rd generation: Nadir-only and corridor mapping. This update enhances our customer’s capability to capture and process data more efficiently by allowing specific cones to be deactivated during image capture or by deselecting imagery of specific cones during processing.
Learn more about the two new modes in this blogpost!
The following three modes can be selected in the Camera Operating Software (COS) during data capture for the UltraCam Osprey and the UltraCam Dragon models, and are fully supported by UltraMap. Additionally, these modes can be selected in the UltraMap Raw Data Center (RDC) to enable selective processing for projects where data was initially captured using all cones.
This update is designed to enhance efficiency and data management, providing greater adaptability to aerial operations. Operators can now customize their data collection strategy based on specific project requirements, ensuring that only the necessary data is captured. Deactivating unnecessary cones reduces the data load, saves space, and therefore allows for the storage of more images. Additionally, not using certain cones during data collection preserves their shutters and enhances their longevity.
Whether restrictions are applied during the flight of UltraCam oblique systems or those selections are made in the UltraMap Raw Data Center: Only the necessary data for the specific application is processed. This approach ensures shorter processing times and reduced storage requirements.
UltraNav supports flight planning for all three modes. Its TOPOFLIGHT MISSIONPLANNER allows customers to plan missions using only the necessary cones, ensuring a streamlined planning process and efficient resource utilization.
These features are introduced with COS v8.0 and UltraMap v6.4. They demonstrate our commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology that adapts to our customers’ evolving needs. This update maximizes their investment by ensuring backward compatibility with the 3rd generation and facilitates more efficient, targeted processing of previously recorded projects, saving both time and costs.
