Airborne mapping projects are essential for creating and updating the high-accuracy base maps used in infrastructure planning, urban development, and many other public- and private-sector applications.

The UltraCam Dragon is a fully integrated airborne mapping system that combines LiDAR, nadir and oblique cameras, GNSS, and IMU technologies in a single high-precision workflow. This scientific paper evaluates the system using datasets from Austria and the United States, comparing two trajectory processing methods and assessing their impact on imagery and LiDAR georeferencing accuracy.

The results show that both approaches deliver reliable trajectory processing and consistent georeferencing accuracy for imagery and LiDAR, demonstrating the potential of tightly integrated sensor systems for high-precision airborne mapping.
