A scientific paper published in 'The International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences', Volume XLVIII-M-6-2025, and presented at ISPRS, EARSeL & DGPF Joint Workshop “Topographic Mapping from Space” in Istanbul, takes a deep dive into the performance of our UltraCam Dragon, the state-of-the-art hybrid aerial mapping system integrating a RIEGL LiDAR scanner, a multi-camera imaging system, and a GNSS/IMU unit.

The research evaluates aerial triangulation strategies, compares traditional and deep learning-based image matching, and demonstrates how combining LiDAR with high-resolution nadir and oblique imagery can significantly enhance 3D reconstruction — especially in complex urban environments. It also showcases MEASUREE, an advanced web-based tool for analyzing large aerial image datasets.
