Applanix POSPac software for direct georeferencing

As part of the UltraNav flight management ecosystem, the Applanix POSPac solution plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and reliable geospatial data acquisition.

Designed for direct georeferencing of UltraCam aerial camera systems, POSPac refines raw GNSS and inertial data collected during airborne missions. The result is highly precise position and orientation information, essential for producing accurate mapping and photogrammetry outputs.

By integrating seamlessly with UltraNav, POSPac connects flight execution with post-processing, enabling a streamlined workflow from data capture to final deliverables.

More Information

What is Applanix POSPac?

POSPac Complete is an advanced GNSS-inertial post-processing software used across airborne, land, and marine mapping applications.

It processes trajectory data recorded during a mission by combining:

  • GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) data and
  • Inertial measurement data (IMU)

Through this integration, POSPac delivers precise direct georeferencing, assigning accurate 3D coordinates and orientation to each captured image. This significantly reduces, or even eliminates, the need for ground control points (GCPs), improving efficiency while maintaining survey-grade accuracy.

For UltraNav users, POSPac seamlessly integrates with the system, enhancing the overall workflow from flight planning to data delivery.

Accurate and reliable georeferencing in any environment

Direct georeferencing accuracy
POSPac utilizes advanced processing algorithms, including the latest IN-Fusion+ technology and Post-Processed CenterPoint RTX, to deliver precise direct georeferencing results. This process ensures that each image pixel is assigned an accurate 3D position, thereby eliminating the necessity for numerous ground control points (GCPs).

PP-RTX technology for global accuracy
The cloud-based global GNSS Post-Processed CenterPoint RTX (PP-RTX) correction service enables UltraNav users to achieve centimeter-level accuracy without base stations, within minutes after flight mission completion. While this is applicable to any airborne missions globally, it is particularly useful in areas with limited or no access to ground-based infrastructure, such as remote regions or complex terrains.

Robust error correction

POSPac effectively and precisely merges GNSS and inertial data, minimizing the GNSS error budget caused by atmospheric delays and multipath effects. This results in reliable data, even in challenging environments.

Efficient workflow integration

POSPac is designed for efficiency, enabling seamless integration with UltraNav. This reduces the time between data collection and project delivery, optimizing your workflow.
