Vexcel Imaging proudly presents a new, highly informative scientific paper on our unique Adaptive Motion Compensation (AMC) method. The authors of this paper are Marc Muick, Bernhard Schachinger and Michael Gruber from the Vexcel Application team and Stefan Dohr, UltraMap Senior Tech Lead. In June 2022, Marc Muick presented this paper with a poster at the ISPRS Congress in Nice, France.

The Adaptive Motion Compensation is an innovative technology that corrects motion-induced image blur in aerial imagery. Motion blur is caused from the speed of the aircraft over ground, the image scale, and an angular component – the angular motion blur - caused from turbulences, if they exist. The need to compensate for motion blur is evident when large-scale aerial imaging is required and best image quality is expected.

This highly versatile motion compensation solution developed by Vexcel Imaging, is software-based and does not include any additional mechanical parts. This innovative approach not only compensates for forward and angular motion blur, it also addresses variance in scale across an oblique image.

Download the scientific paper below to get an in-depth understanding of the topic and gain practical insights into examples from a large-scale flight mission.
