White paper on Adaptive Motion Compensation

Graz, Austria • April 07, 2022

Vexcel Imaging is pleased to present a white paper on the Adaptive Motion Compensation (AMC), to further explain this modern approach of motion compensation. The paper was written by Marc Muick, Bernhard Schachinger and Michael Gruber from the Vexcel Application team together with Stefan Dohr, UltraMap Senior Tech Lead.

With the 4th generation UltraCam, Vexcel Imaging has opened a new chapter in motion compensation by developing the software-based Adaptive Motion Compensation method. Utilizing AMC to successfully compensate for multi-directional motion is a game-changer for the industry. Adaptive Motion Compensation further improves the image quality and also addresses scale variances across an image. This is significant in the case of oblique images.

Download the paper below to learn more about the benefits of this new method and gain practical insight into examples from a large-scale flight mission. Results from an aero-triangulation and bundle adjustment experiment show the improvement of image measurement quality and the stability of principal camera parameters.
