Who is Krzysztof Konieczny?

Krzysztof Konieczny is CEO of ECOGIS Ltd. in Poland, a company that provides geosolutions now for more than 20 years, ranging from selling professional surveying and photogrammetric equipment through digital maps creation and specialized programming to consulting & training in GIS projects. Krzysztof graduated at the Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography in the field of photogrammetry. During his studies, he spent a year at “Leibniz Universität Hannover”, institute for photogrammetry and geoinformation, where he also wrote his master thesis on image correlation. He has almost 30 years of experience in the field of photogrammetry and remote sensing and has been project manager in numerous projects that have dealt with data processing, surveying and IT.

He is with ECOGIS since the company was founded in 1992 and his duty is to be the final authority in all sales and project acquisition activities. His ‘customer first’ philosophy and prompt attention to his customers’ demands motivate him to jump out of bed in the morning, and at the same time those customer needs keep him awake at night. But it pays off to take customers’ needs serious. His biggest success so far has been the sale of two full UltraCam Eagle systems in one year (a triple-sale was very close). When it comes to the “life” in his work-life-balance, Krzysztof is a family person, with a passion for outdoor sports and adventurous lifestyle. He is into the “wild life” and loves to go hiking in the mountains or yachting. He is also very interested in music (especially classical) and is most relaxed when he is spending his free time with his beloved family.

Understanding customers’ needs is the key to success for ECOGIS

UltraCam in 3 words.

Very reliable solution (with unique philosophy).

What motivated you to become a Vexcel sales partner?

The extremely reliable technology of the "UltraScan" (a previous product) and Vexcel’s certain "touch of genius" in the world of digital cameras motivated us to become a Vexcel sales partner. A further important factor for remaining a Vexcel sales partner is the high appreciation of our customers.

What do you like most about the partnership with Vexcel?

What I appreciate most is the openness and that we talk about a "real" partnership in all aspects. We always get rapid and thorough support for maintenance and service matters. There have been many situations in which an optimal solution was found quickly and smoothly.

How would you describe working with Engelbert Breg, Vexcel Sales Director in the region?

Engelbert is an outstanding partner through good and bad times and our cooperation is always respectful and appreciative.

We would love to hear about the most memorable experience you’ve had with the UltraCam family!

The UltraCam user group meetings (Rome, Innsbruck, Graz) have always been very inspiring for me. A special experience was definitely sledding downhill at almost "the speed of light".

What are the challenges and opportunities in your territory?

We put a lot of effort into getting closer to the requirements of the Balkan market. It is a challenge and at the same time offers great potential.

Looking out 3 to 5 years, what do you think will be the next big change in the geospatial industry?

I suppose that we will benefit even more from the huge amount of data already collected and start developing solutions known from the autonomous automotive industry, where the V2V, V2I and I2V solutions are becoming more and more relevant.
