Who is Terenzio Mariani?

Terenzio has an Engineering degree and Master in Photogrammetry from ITC (Enschede, Holland) and has been a Vexcel Imaging Sales Partner since 2009. He is based near Milan (Italy) and he, as a well-known and highly respected member of the geospatial community, has enjoyed solid success selling UltraCam systems in his market that includes Italy and Finland.

Any opportunity, no matter how unlikely they may appear, is reason for him to jump out of bed in the morning. When he is not winning at work, he enjoys traveling, reading and listening to music. As a balance to work, he is passionate about gardening and working around his house.

Best photogrammetric cameras.

What motivated you to become a Vexcel Sales Partner?

My motivation to join Vexcel as a sales partner was driven by the superior technology of the products. UltraCam systems enjoy a reputation for being the best in the industry and the same can be said of the customer support from Vexcel. Additionally, I enjoy the working relationship of partnering with Vexcel. They are professional and supportive.

What do you like most about the partnership with Vexcel?

The people at Vexcel are highly motivated to serve the industry with the best photogrammetric hardware and software products and to support their sales representatives and mutual customers in a way that helps everyone be successful. When you join Vexcel, either as a customer or partner, you truly join a family of warm, friendly and pleasant people.

How would you describe working with Engelbert Breg, Vexcel Sales Director in the region?

Engelbert and I have been working together for quite some time now and have an excellent working relationship. We are very much aligned in our philosophy on selling and our customer-driven focus.

We would love to hear about the most memorable experience you’ve had with the UltraCam family!

What happens in Innsbruck, stays in Innsbruck!

What are the challenges and opportunities in your territory?

While small and medium-range camera systems are increasingly becoming more viable in my market for customers from the Military, the Space Organization, and the International Organization (similar to the European Commission JRC).  Naturally, as is true for most regions, the economic outlook in the short-term is concerning.

Looking out 3 to 5 years, what do you think will be the next big change in the geospatial industry?

I believe we will see demand for geospatial data products expand beyond the photogrammetry market that is currently being primarily served, to include more opportunity from military and reconnaissance surveillance market segments. Additionally, I expect increased development efforts to automate software for producing downstream data products such as true orthos and 3D.
