Who is Marko Paško?

Marko Paško is the CEO and owner of Expert for 3D Landscape, founded in 2003 and based in Slovakia. Expert for 3D Landscape operates as a family business with a team of four, leading Marko to oversee various areas, primarily focusing on sales of Vexcel products, customer support, and R&D. Since 2003, Expert for 3D Landscape has been a sales partner for Vexcel. This year marks two decades of successful collaboration!

Reflecting on his most notable achievements, Marko recalls the sale and successful implementation of a multi-sensor aerial data acquisition system, incorporating three distinct sensors: a digital aerial camera, laser scanner, and hyperspectral scanner. He goes above and beyond for his clients. He contemplates, often until late in the evenings, how best to meet and exceed customer needs, driven by the goal of achieving the utmost for his customers.

To recharge after intense business phases, Marko likes spending time in nature and engaging in various sports activities like orienteering, Nordic skiing, cycling, or mountain biking to unwind. But sometimes, it's simply gardening to ground himself and clear his mind. Marko feels fortunate as he can spend a significant amount of time with his family during work. In their family-run business, his wife and two sons play vital roles in contributing to the company's success.

Marko's wife, Alena, a surveyor engineer, oversees the office and provides support in accounting. Their sons, Michal and Adam, grew up around photogrammetry. Consequently, both possess extensive knowledge about Vexcel products. Michal specializes in geoinformatics, while Adam focuses on mechatronics. Marko deeply appreciates the strong family bond, which not only contributes to successful operations but also fosters unity within the family.

Photogrammetric, high-end, multi-camera
What motivated you to become a Vexcel sales partner?

My interest in becoming a Vexcel sales partner stemmed from my positive past experience with the VX3000 film scanner and Vexcel’s UltraScan5000, a prominent player in photogrammetric film scanning. Alongside my familiarity with Prof. Franz Leberl and Dr. Michael Gruber, particularly their ideas and scientific contributions, it became clear that I wanted to be involved in this new era of digital aerial photogrammetry right from its inception.
What do you like most about the partnership with Vexcel?

I appreciate the continuous advancements made in digital photogrammetric aerial camera products over the past 20 years, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with a reliable group of friendly professionals.
How would you describe working with Engelbert Breg, Vexcel Sales Director in the region?

In my role as a sales partner to Vexcel Imaging, Engelbert serves as my primary contact. He perfectly combines a deep knowledge of technical details with a comprehensive understanding of every aspect of the sales cycle. His presence at Vexcel User Group Meetings contributes to a positive atmosphere and a good mood. Though I consider him a friend, he maintains the utmost professionalism.
We would love to hear about the most memorable experience you’ve had with the UltraCam family!

Alongside the many memories of good times and vibrant atmospheres at the Vexcel User Group Meetings, successes and sales also stand out as memorable experiences for me. It's particularly special that, due to my long-standing partnership with Vexcel, I've witnessed and sold all four generations of UltraCam! Some customers who have now purchased the latest generation of UltraCam attended the presentation of the UltraCam D, the first generation. This illustrates how we forge long-lasting relationships and cater to customers whose passion lies within photogrammetry. I take pride in that!
What are the challenges and opportunities in your territory?

Over the last 20 years, the challenge has been to become a market leader in providing photogrammetric aerial mapping systems. I achieved this thanks to the technological power of UltraCam, the reliable support from Vexcel Imaging, and the extensive network of professional customers and skilled specialists who invested their resources in Vexcel Imaging technology. This collective effort has enabled the entire territory of Czech Republic and Slovakia to access the highest quality of photogrammetric products.

I believe that in our territory (Czech Republic and Slovakia), there exists significant potential in aerial data acquisition compared to satellite data. Both countries are relatively small and have a high density of photogrammetric aircraft. There is - and will continue to be in the future - a substantial demand for this data, and aerial imaging allows for swift project completion with the highest possible Ground Sampling Distance (GSD). I am confident that we are on the right track!

Looking out 3 to 5 years, what do you think will be the next big change in the geospatial industry?

I am convinced that automatic mapping with data acquisition by multi-sensor systems, which also cover hyperspectral cameras, as well as data processing by AI, will bring about a significant change.
